Vinnie is one of the celebrities lined up to take part in the ITV competition, which debuted last Saturday.
Tanya, who died three months ago after her six-year battle with melanoma came to a tragic end, was a longtime fan of the singing competition.
He told GMB hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: "She loved X Factor and she wanted me to do it.
"That was her dream."
He continued: "Whether or not I do it that is another thing."
