The X-Factor is a singing contest, not the National Lottery. While i'm sure Leon and his Mum have been through a lot in their lives, there are probably thousands of similar stories of poverty and hardship from all the other people who auditioned. I personally don't believe that people should use their lifestories to gain public support and sympathy. All these sob stories are getting very tiresome and I fear next year we will be subjected to even more (If that is possible?). The contest becomes less about talent and singing ability and more about class and money, which is bad for the X-Factor.
