I think some people as kids/early teens say certain things to try and be funny/fit into a group at times, perhaps pressures at school or just trying too hard, and it doesn’t pay off, with it often being offensive and stupid. I am a lot more forgiving of children who say stupid things as they likely don’t understand the impact and I don’t agree with the hate mob of finding old tweets of kids and blaming them and acting as if they’d said it as adults - and then branding them racists / whatever it is
