I think you have all missed one part of what the Trusty Truthful Trump said in his excellent award winning speech.

(Praise so the acolytes of POTUS keep reading)

"“We got enough problems with South Korea with trade and on top of it, they give them the best movie of the year.”

It seems there may be a trade dispute between the US and South Korea?

So if a country is ripping your economy to shreds through unfair trade practices, and you give it some kind of award over home grown talent, how do workers who may be losing their jobs because of sharp practices over trade by that country feel? To give that country, a top award, is only rubbing salt in, to those workers who may be losing their livelihoods due to this country's sharp practices on trade

Should not the Academy of Film and Television be supporting its own people during this trade dispute rather than this foreign country who is crippling them on trade?

I suspect now that the money men will now go after the Academy bods that made this awards to root out all those who have been disloyal and are probably commies and those secretly supporting this evil country, who is waging an unfair trade was on the Good Old US of A.

Maybe after cleaning house at the Academy of those non patriots, they can revoke that award of best picture and hand it to a good old home grown talent

So not so much racism at all, but protection of the US economy from a country, that appears to the POTUS to be carrying out unfair trade practices.

The Trusty Truthful Trump is only standing up for his country and those who elected him.
