You're talking about it's survivability in aerosolised form, which only occurs under very specific conditions. e.g. pressurised medical environments. It doesn't happen in shops.
This is why newspapers need to be careful when reporting on scientific papers. Don't assume that the journalist writing the article has any idea what he's reading.
