Out of more recent Shows that I've watched though, I have loved Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans, Sonic Boom, Mindhunter, and Dark.
Seasons 2-3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender are really strong too.

BSG remake is excellent but got slightly muddled in the final season IMO. I personally liked the ending but I understand why a lot of people didn't.
However, it didn't inspire them to make GOT. They made "Rome", which was amazing but only spanned two 6-episode seasons... It's excellent from start to finish... And
very clearly the inspiration for the GoT TV series. I think it's actually higher quality though.
