I had a look around and this was the schedule back in 2000.

When is Big Brother on television?

The first Big Brother programme is on Channel 4 on Tuesday 18th July from 9.00-10.00pm. On Friday 21st there is a half-hour programme at 6.30pm. From Monday 24th there will be programmes broadcast six days a week. On Mondays there is an hour long programme from 8.00-9.00pm. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays there is a half-hour programme at 11.00pm. On Fridays, starting from July 28th, there are two half-hour live studio shows at 8.30pm and 11.00pm hosted by Davina McCall.

These will show the build up to, and the actual eviction of one of the participants… If you miss a show, don't worry, every Saturday you can catch up on the events of the past week in an hour long omnibus, and of course you can find all the news of what's been happening on the website.
From the 'Help' link here - https://web.archive.org/web/20000815...ames_news.html

So mostly it was half an hour at 11:00pm and no actual highlights were shown on Saturdays and Sundays.
