Indeed. My wife "completed it" in like 3 weeks but oh gosh... it seems that was only just the start.
She also has a friend who invited her to their island and I swear literally every single square has been curated. I feel like this game encourages OCD.
Its all quite freeform/emergent really and a lot of the appeal is the social aspect. We visited my sister in law together and I've seen people have "parties"

My personal main goal in the game is to collect as many bizarre outfit combinations as possible and then aggressively wear them at people.
My current fav is a scruffy blonde haircut, gold aviators, beard, raspberry coloured tweed jacket and t shirt combo, tiger print skirt (ahem, its a kilt) and red boots. Sometimes I then pop on a raspberry coloured beret... So that I can shout RAAASPBERRY BERET at people.
Though I'm also a fan of the red fairytale dress, balloon hat and thick rimmed square glasses combo
