Three more rounds of the first stage remain, so I'll post them in one big trio rather than eke out a solo round at the end for no reason. This'll take a while. Bloody Youtube links. Pick your favourite six of these twenty!
General observations:
- I nearly discounted the Spinners' cover at the bottom of the list because I assumed they were a band from the 50s who had later success like Jackie Wilson, but it turns out this was recorded and released in the latter end of 1979 before charting in April 1980, so that's fair.
- Bowie will probably struggle to qualify here... there's some big camp bangers here in Irene Cara, Kylie, Berlin, Diana and Tiffany, and then there's Foreigner

I wouldn't rule out Men at Work or The Jam here either.
- MARRS is probably the most contemporary-sounding offering here, so maybe that'll give them a leg up on the competition. Genuinely assumed that was a 90s song.
