When we were kids my mum and dad took us on a boating holiday on the Thames and the weather was gorgeous. I wanted to feed the ducks off the back of the boat but my mum said not to - so I did it anyway. There was a duck and her ducklings following us and I was having a lovely time throwing bread to them until a swan came along and attacked and killed one of the ducklings over a piece of bread. I was heartbroken, my mum was all "i told you not to do that" and my brother was all "you're a duckling killer" and so that it the main reason I am not keen on swans (as well as the big scary beak and massive wing span)
You too Annie.

I was once on a visit to Walsingham, I was 13.
While walking around, we passed a gate with a notice on saying beware of the Geese.

I laughed thinking Geese, and it seemed a shortcut to where I was heading..
Wow, did I get an awakening

They came charging at us and were really intimidating and vicious.
We ran like crazy, for what seemed like ages, they were relentless.

Once safe, I was puffed out but what an awakening.
I laughed about it a short time later, learned not to doubt notices like that in future.

I'd still never have tried to harm one though.
