I dunno... Dundee is north of Stirling . Although there's some nice enough scenery on that drive too, to be fair, so long as you don't actually go into the city centre. Although, that's had a lot of work done since I lived there.

Then again, right up North you have Inverness which is an actual sh**-hole.

Again if anyone is ever planning to visit the highlands, I cannot emphasise enough, head up the west side towards Fort William/Skye. NOT up the east to Inverness. Just avoid, really. Loch Ness is easily driveable cutting across the way from the west coast too... but honestly it's become a tourist trap and is just a bit... tacky. There are many other lochs that are lovely and quiet .
