They have to do it, though. I don't think it's about 'being PC' or anything like that, it's protecting themselves from the potentiality of complaint. Why do you think Big Brother had a twelve hour-long warning at the beginning of each episode?
It's more about... 'here's a list of things you cannot complain about, because we warned you about them at the start of the show...'
Personally, I'd rather sit through the disclaimers than such shows being removed from existence completely.
