I can't stand musicals in movie form but have seen three live in the West End and they were all incredible. I've seen a recording of a show I was actually at online and it just doesn't capture that feeling and atmosphere, at all.
I dunno, I've never seen a recording before so I can't judge but I always imagine them to basically be one camera pointing at the stage and recording the performance as is but I think Disney's gone for more than that with this one. Seems like there's some real effort put into the cinematography.

I'll give it a watch.
