You've just reminded me that when my dad agreed to pay my rent as his "uni funds contribution", he set a £250/month max that he'd pay, but in 3rd and 4th year the place we rented was £290/month each and I said "But it's such a great place dad, I'll pay the £40 a month extra back to you" (as the rent payment came out of his account) and I never gave him a penny so I technically still owe him 24 months of that... so just under £1000. Plus 12 years' interest I guess.
. Shhhh he's old now he won't remember.
