It gives them the right to have a hard border to the republic. The reason being that they dont want a border between NI and the mainland in the event of a no deal brexit - which makes perfect sense to me. I personally think it's the sovereign countries right to be able to enforce it's borders.

Some may say it affects peace .... but the simple fact is those that want peace wont get upset about a border if they genuinely want peace
