It's a bit more complicated than that really. It is 7x higher across the board (0.1% vs 0.7%), far lower than flu in under 30's (because flu risk is high in the very young but covid risk almost zero), about the same as flu in 30-55, and sadly much, much deadlier than flu in over 65's (so much so that it brings the overall mortality rate up massively).
It's also easier to catch than flu because its new, so lack of herd immunity. E.g. If one family member has the flu you wouldn't automatically assume the whole household will get it whereas its very likely with Covid.
