Things you only realised about certain TV shows when you got older
In line with my latest string of TV-allied threads. From bonafide children’s cartoons (aka Rugrats, Winnie the Pooh) to PG-17 shows (South Park), what things did you only realise about certain shows and characters in them when you got much older?
I’ll go.
1. Spongebob was definitely gay (unsurprisingly).
2. Scooby-Do: Daphne and Fred. were obviously shagging (excuse the pun) and probably not many people over the age of 12 would miss the not-so-subtle chemistry between them, as superficial as it was. And Velma was either lesbian or asexual.
3. Family Guy: Stewie probably wasn’t gay except for Brian (the subtle-as-a-bag-of-bricks ‘hints’ were too obvious, almost like a red herring)
4. Winnie the Pooh: Eeyore was definitely a latent homosexual.
5. That’s So Raven: Chelsea was never a total idiot, even in the later seasons, just incredibly ditzy but still fairly book-smart. And Alana (Raven’s nemesis in one of the early seasons) secretly admired the latter (obviously) and wasn’t hard at all.
6. Rugrats: the babies were obviously a figment of Angelica’s active imagination (figured that out pretty soon tbh) on account of her parents’ borderline-neglectful lack of attention to her.
Over to you guys.
