Appreciation and appropriation are two different things.
Katy Perry doing that infamous performance of 'Unconditionally' at that awards show was appropriation of Japanese culture because it was hackneyed and stereotypical and basically derogatory. She also appropriated Egypt in the same era with Dark Horse. She took elements of dress and culture from these two places and profited from it by presenting it as painfully stereotypical as possible.

There's no impact to lessen, not a single Japanese or Egyptian person was harmed by the things you mention, and there's nothing stopping anyone else from drawing inspiration from those cultures. Just like there's nothing stopping them from mimicking American styles for profit.
