Sorry, I don't see the need for statues to personally glorify any individuals.
Shove them inside buildings relevant to the person or shove them in museums.

I honestly don't think even as a child I've ever been taken to see or since gone to see a statue.

So them shoved in your faces in public places, especially if divisive characters, I see no reason for whatsoever.
