I went into my first one by accident too but became determined to finish it... Had quicksaved right next to it... So I did it like 9 times until I killed them all
. I eventually did it by luring them one at a time down an alleyway into an open garage and then just going ham on them with my katana - as they repeatedly get staggered so they can't really fight back (and no ammo limitations). It took forever to kill 8 guys though.
The benefit obviously is that they drop higher-level loot and, while most of it you can't actually use, you can break it all down for those precious parts.
Also because the skills system is partially "per use" like Skyrim, I got loads of Blades experience since it took over 50 cuts to down each guy
