...yeah, although we knew that it was told backwards in the original, so could piece together the plot...actually watching it in real time changed so much in terms of the characters and Natalie especially had seemed awful, but she wasn’t ...I don’t know why ‘John G’ became significant, I presumed that the killer actually was ‘John G’ and he had already killed him but obviously didn’t recall...so all of the other John G’s were invented to create the vigilante in him because as Teddy said, it was an easy name to choose...’do you have any idea how many John G’s there are..’.....it was also said that there were two people because he was hit from behind...and yet in his ‘search’ it was only ever mentioned John G...whichever way we watched it, it seems to leave so much element of unanswered..I thought that the significance of the book was just how it attached to him in repeating and repeating ‘a story’ and that he didn’t actually want it to have an ending either, because it enabled him to ‘have a purpose’ in his grief, he wouldn’t ever stop living in his story..it’s all so well done and so fascinating...did he pinch his wife’s thigh or did he give an insulin injection...we still don’t really know....
