it's a commercial channel, so they're going to do promo in their branding. It's literally no different to Ch5 doing that thing where they "briefly flashed the Big Brother eye" on screen between ads during the run up to BB seasons. The logo is superimposed by the channel before broadcast, it's not a news anchor holding up a piece of paper.
