It's sadly not surprising, China is committing genocide against Uighers, and they'll continue to do so because the world is content to stand by and watch, as long as it doesn't interfere with the economy. We'll say hollow condemnations, but no country will actually subject China to any meaningful consequences for their actions.

Reading some of the things that have been done to the Uighers reminds me a lot of the Japanese forces and government during WW2 and before, China had acutely suffered from such brutality, yet a few generations later, they are inflicting this same brutality on others.
