Spoiler: ...I love this chapter..  ...you just balance things so perfectly, Scarlett, which is why it’s so east to feel the visual as well...you just keep the friendships and the more ‘everyday’/human type touch so much in the story...them all being preoccupied in different things as they approach the city when we know that their real thought preoccupation is the huge anticipation and fear they must be feeling and whether any of them even, will survive and feeling a doom that there will be many personal losses etc..but their course is fixed and that has to be...‘I mean, it doesn’t have to be the end’...but we know that they feel it most definitely will be ....great writing in how you evoke the actual feelings that they are having...and the sombreness of it all...
