I'm pretty sure we've known that GCH is better than electric since like... ... when central heating was invented?
. It's literally a selling point for estate agents. And something my sister complains about; she lives on an island, they do not have ANY mains gas on the island so heating is either electric (expensive) or from an oil tank in your garden (somewhat inconvenient).
That said, electric does become more efficient and cheaper over time (generally).
