[At least eight dead and multiple others injured
after a gunman with an assault rifle goes
on a rampage at a FedEx facility
near Indianapolis Airport before killing himself
Officers say they came in contact with an
active shooter after they were called shortly
after 11pm on Thursday
In addition to the eight confirmed deaths,
officers said four had been hospitalized,
one in a critical condition
The male gunman shot himself dead,
becoming the ninth confirmed person
to die in the shooting incident
Two eyewitnesses report seeing a man getting
a gun from the trunk of his car;
one saw a body on the floor
Another said he saw a 'man with a
sub-machine gun or automatic firing
into the open' before people fled
Another said he heard 10 shots being
fired before alerting law enforcement of
the on-going attack
Initial reports suggest the shooting
took place inside and outside the facility
with one victim shot in her car
FedEx called the shooting 'tragic' in
a statement, adding: 'Our thoughts are
with all those who are affected' ]
