It was an interesting read, thanks Shaun.
The quote that sums it all up to me:

Not every dedicated viewer is a fan of the shift—and not every queen who appears on the show can keep up.

This is very true. Rewatching S5 or 6 for example was enjoyable in so many ways, and particularly the take on the runway themes. It was a lot more authentic.
And also, people hate on Violet for talking about queens having teams to do their costumes but she's so right. It takes the magic away from me, just like when Symone shows up with the most amazing looks of the season but designed a very very basic runway look for the ball.
That for example makes me like Jaida even more because she designed most of her stuff herself which is quite impressive.
tbh the production should put a limit to how much you spend or do more design challenges (I remember 3 in S3?).
And Aquaria saying she spent $5,000

Girl bye, the audacity (it doesn't take anything away from her talent, but you get the point)

Naomi Smalls, a runner-up on both Season 8 and All-Stars 4, has said that her idea of “investing in drag” going into Season 8 was “buying 10 lace-fronts from Amazon.”

Yeah, we noticed

I'm pretty sure her issue wasn't money but probably her laziness to show up in something else than a bikini and lingerie in almost all her runways
