I think the article (or, rather, the author) makes a point to say that the real
value of Aquaria's resources was far higher than that, tbf, on account of the favours she was able to pull from famous or talented friends. I wish the article had touched more upon the privilege queens like her, Gigi, Ariel, Fame, Pearl etc. had in that regard... because if casting is reaching out to queens who are already established drag names with a wealth of contacts on hold willing to make something featured for TV (and the accompanying free advertising on Instagram next year, when they make it), and pitting them against your Heidi N Closets and your Chi Chi DeVaynes and expecting it to be a level playing field, they are wildly off the mark and feeding into racial/class divides.
