What's the point in electric cars if there aren't widely used sustainable energy sources?

It's laughable that biomass fuel is being paraded around as a good thing and being called "carbon neutral" because the trees are "replaced" - it takes decades for a new tree to catch up with the oxygen-creation of old ones which are cut down.
