It's laughable that biomass fuel is being paraded around as a good thing and being called "carbon neutral" because the trees are "replaced" - it takes decades for a new tree to catch up with the oxygen-creation of old ones which are cut down.

With trees carbon-capture is more important than oxygen-creation (80% of oxygen generation happens in the ocean) but I'd imagine the principle is sound enough - although in theory it's not a problem if they are planting new biomass and ONLY using/replacing that biomass, and leaving the existing trees alone (tropics and ancient forests).
The answer however until efficient renewables become viable for 100% of power is Nuclear but people get a bit nervous about it

But yeah there's no point going for full electric cars on the road until the grid can actually handle 30+ million electric vehicles plugging in every night, and do so without increasing carbon output from electricity generation.
