William and Harry have both spoken out in the past about receiving mental health care for their problems from the Palaces own private MH specialists they can call on.
Nobody knew this until they chose to talk about it in their roles/ involvement with mental health organizations. Charles has also spoken about receiving help.
If 2 future Kings can admit to it, I don't see how they are worried about it harming their image. It would be seen as a good thing that a newcomer was getting all the help they could provide which she was in many ways.
I don't believe she was refused help at all.
