Well actually one of my old friends from school who I see (pre-Covid) 3 or 4 times a year spontaneously turned into a "manly hugger" about 5 years ago. I've known him since I was literally a toddler, and we managed 30 full years without hugging  . It was unsettling and it can stay gone  . |
i think there has been a sea change where about 5 years ago, it became acceptable to hug, prior to that time it wouldn't even have been considered as an option
