Not a row as such, but many moons ago I was on holiday in Portugal, sharing a pool house with four other guys, one of whom was notoriously cheap.
We drove into the nearest big town one evening, searching for a restaurant for dinner.
I saw a menu on a restaurant window which had cataplana, (a Portuguese speciality), for X escudos, (I did say that it was many moons ago).
I said, “Looks good, what’s the consensus?”
Cheap friend said, “I’ve seen a restaurant where it’s about ten pence cheaper.”
There was a chorus of, “Okay Bob, we’ll be in Os Arcos (a Portuguese bar), after dinner, catch you later.”
He had the raving zig for the rest of the holiday.
