…I do recall something a long time ago which I wasn’t a part of because I’m not a wine drinker….but it involved how many glasses of wine and did someone take a bottle home oh my Lord etc and Peace treaties had to be signed eventually….

I get what you're saying but having been on the other end of I do understand why people get a bit tetchy about it. When we go for a meal with work, I tend to drink beer and just have a pizza or something and we always just split the bill. A lot of people will have steaks, wines and then after dinner spirit drinks so a £6 pizza and a couple of beers ends up costing me around £40+
