I beg to differ. If she wasn't host of love island she wouldn't have had all that media obsession and public interest during her troublesome times in the last months of her life.
It's never really the show itself, if anything it's the public opinion & reactions / trolls which lead to mental health issues and suicides. Although there's not really much the show itself can do about that, except for axe the show itself.
I don't think it's going anywhere for a LONG time though. For itv2, 500k viewers would still be good for itv2 so even if viewers dwindle I think it may die a long and painful death like big brother.
