Cotton Quits
TELLY babe Fearne Cotton has quit The X Factor – after landing a deal to front a new talent show in the US.
The bubbly blonde only hosted one series of spin-off The Xtra Factor on ITV2 – after taking over from Ben Shephard last year.
But pals claim the 25-year-old beauty has had enough and now wants to build her career across the pond.
Insiders have suggested she was unlikely to have been offered a new contract this year anyway.
One said: “Fearne had fun working on X Factor but she decided to quit while she was ahead.
“There was no guarantee she would have been doing a second series. It made sense to make a clean break and concentrate on America.
Blood
“There’s no bad blood between her and The X Factor lot but they didn’t exactly get on like a house on fire.”
She has already scored her first gig in the US, for NBC – one of the top four channels.
She will co-host Last Comic Standing – a talent trawl for some of America’s funniest comedians.
She jetted out to Los Angeles this week to start filming the auditions.
Like The X Factor, contestants on Last Comic Standing are booted off the show following a public vote.
The winner gets 250,000 dollars and a contract to make shows with NBC.
Fearne is also hosting a new celebrity karaoke show called Guilty Pleasures for ITV1 as well as presenting the Brits.
