I don't think it's any different to touching any other communal surface - just use hand-san as soon as you get back in the car (it should be right there available for use ). That said, I do actually use the gloves, not so much for covid, but because the Tesco where we usually fuel up seems to have prostate issues on its fuel pumps, they dribble everywhere when you're trying to put it back so if you don't wear the gloves you get petrol all over your hand.
