I've played against him.
Very crafty he was, he was in his 40s when I played against him so he couldn't move as fast as he used to. He took me out of the game by purposely talking to me. I learnt a lesson from a top pro that day, don't get distracted by their tactics.
And another lesson I learned from playing against him was, don't follow him if he drops deep. I thought I was the big shot following him to mark him, he just walked back to the halfway line and stood there, which again took me out of the game.
That's the difference between an average player and a top player, they know all the tricks of the trade.
