I'm not even being entirely flippant. This is 100% what I believe to have happened to Madeleine but I always have suspected that Kate would have simply called the authorities and admitted what happened (they left them in the room, she died accidentally) and the kidnapping/murder charade is Gerry's. Easy to convince someone who is in shock to go along with a lie, and once a lie has started, it becomes harder and harder to get out of  . |
I keep wondering where Madeline's body was dumped, so grim and horrible that she was never discovered ,Which is also a problem when it comes to proving foul play/ more evidence .
So whatever happened will stay a secret unfortunately, so if the parents DID have something to do with her death ,then they have to live with that. I've never trusted them and always suspected them. They've pretty much gotten away with it if they're guilty.
