I've hated the feeling of dried mud on my hands ever since I was forced into this as a kid.

Looking back it was probably cause I couldnt be trusted round the house on my own at 13 when my mum and dad were out working.

So I got kicked out at half five in the morning dressed like paddington ****ing bear, to wait in the cold morning air for a tractor and trailer to come along to pile about 30 kids onto the trailer for the 4 mile journey to the farm.

Five pound each on a friday, 7 if you were one of the basket crew. (The pinnacle of our involvement, but only came when you were 15, due to the more physical aspect to that job) dont mind ma wee 13yr old broken back though Mr Giles.

I did end up on the baskets though before the usual 15yr old norm, but that was due to being super fit as a teen.
