Not really, I agree but having someone comment on your appearance with consent is not the same thing at all as commenting on someone's appearance uninvited.
If your friend says "Tell me straight Cherie - does this pullover look good on me?" and you say "I'm afraid not, it's too tight, not flattering and makes you look a bit fat." there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
That doesn't mean it's OK to walk round to a friend's house, take one look at them and say "WOW change that jumper you look like a burst pack of sausages" completely without prompt.
As a real world example, my wife sometimes asks me if her eyebrows are even and I will give an honest appraisal. If she comes downstairs and I notice they are uneven and she hasn't asked... do I say anything? NO, what madness!
