Ah the old “there was leaves covering the lines guvna!”. A classic.
I once tried to argue that because the double yellows had completely worn away in a car-length area, I had assumed it was a handy parking spot. Apparently that’s not a good enough excuse either
. £70 fine but I’m sure I paid less for “quick payment” or summat.
But hold on. I’ve just googled it and apparently if there’s a break in the line it CAN invalidate a parking ticket.
