Pregnant women are cautious about what they put in their bodies whilst pregnant. Most women realise that anything they put in their bodies can affect the unborn child. A lot of women will still have family members who remember the thalidomide crisis....a new medication that caused severe birth defects although it was classed as a wonder drug. I can understand the hesitancy of pregnant women....I went into a pharmacy when pregnant with a cold to buy some decongestant tablets and they advised me strongly against taking them. I didn't take anything for.my cold, I was terrified that something may harm the child.I was carrying. Being scared for your child does not make you abhorrent, as long as you are very careful on who you are mixing with at the.moment
