It's been long suspected that Meghan told Harry lying sob stories about her father and family because he was moaning to her on their first dates about how hard done by he was with his family and it was a case of “You and I are in the same boat” strategy to get to his heart and get his interest.
Remember Harry in the early radio interview saying Meghan was invited to have Xmas with the royals, because they were ‘going to be the family she never had’.
She probably fed him a pack of lies and couldn’t risk being rumbled.
