It actually probably gives more time to process as they will most likely have known it was quadruplets since the 8 week scan, and unfortunately multiple births (beyond twins) often end in miscarriage, and when it’s 4 or more it’s actually likely to be the case. Of course there’s always hope but they’ll have been informed as soon it was known to be a quadruple pregnancy that miscarriage was likely.
