It’s interesting really - my two best friends who I still see I’ve known forever. One since I was 14, the other literally since I was a toddler, we lived directly across from each other from birth . However I didn’t see them anything like as much during Uni and was obviously really close with my Uni housemates - we lived together so were together basically all day every day for 4 years - but we all went separate ways and lost touch fairly quickly (within 5 years post-Uni).

Whereas my school friends, we’re in touch most days on the ol’ WhatsApp group chat and meet up as often as we can (sadly far less often since Covid).

Have lost touch with many other school pals though. There are a few who I suspect if we ran into each other and went for a coffee/drink it would be like no time had passed at all. I was still in touch with a few all through Uni etc… having kids changes things up a lot though and you move on.
