It's not that the word is offensive, it's a word Celtic fans often use to refer to themselves/the team ("The Bhoys") and he thought that because I used it, I must be a Celtic fan, and thus Catholic . Which is the part he clearly found offensive. Playing anonymous internet Scrabble with a Catholic .
