Yeah sadly this sort of thing is the 'norm' in East Asia , and COVID or no COVID they're already way too fond of killing every species & animal that's around. And I don't think they'll kill them humanely either.
I remember hearing about a rare sea creature in China that was basically on its way out, due to their weird obsession with eating every living thing
