There is a huge candidate shortage at the moment. This is the first January ever in 23 years in recruitment where we have had more jobs than candidates available. I speak with recruiters in various sectors every day and they are all saying the same thing. Its a very candidate driven market at the moment but that bubble will pop eventually.

I don't like the sound of forcing people to apply for any job outside your skills set, it will lead to people in jobs they hate....which in turn drives down productivity for the employer and after the last 2 years could have a massive toll on mental health.

The Gov are desperately trying to recoup cash and cook the unemployment figures.
