You're never going to get 10 million people sat down at one time watching live TV. Yea I think if the price was much better then ch5 would have kept it but they are currently having so much success from shows that they make themselves and are much cheaper so that is the probaly a main reason why they are cutting ties to use the money elsewhere.
Its interesting that Family Affairs had half the budget it spends on Neighbours yet had the same ratings
